A man in a suit looks at his phone and celebrates.

We are so excited to start welcoming a new batch of students to Thompson Rivers University! We will begin sending out our offer letters within the next month for our open (non-competitive) programs.

That being said, it is important to make sure you have submitted all your necessary documents in order for our admissions team to properly evaluate your application.

Have you applied to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or Bachelor of Computing Science? If so, provided your application is complete, you should be hearing from our admissions team within the next month. (Keep in mind that our limited and selective programs work on a different timeline. If you’ve applied to a limited or selective program, don’t be alarmed if you don’t hear from us in February regarding your application 🙂 )

All these programs require your high school transcripts and, if you have any post-secondary schooling, you’ll want to send those in as well for possible transfer credit!

If you went to high school in BC or are currently attending a high school in BC, you can use the Student Transcript Service to have your transcripts digitally sent to TRU!

If you are a current grade 12 student you’ll want to make sure to select:

Screenshot of the Student Transcript website. there are 2 selection options, ones says "send my printed transcript now. The other option, "Send Interim and Final Marks when they become available", is selected and circled in red.

This means that the Student Transcript Service will automatically send your final marks to TRU when they become available and you won’t have to remember to do that after graduation.

If you went to high school in Alberta you can use myPass. Other provinces may have their own system, which you can typically find more information about from you provincial or territory Ministry of Education website. If you’re unsure, you can always call your high school and have them send a mailed copy to TRU. You can find our mailing address and read more about how to send your transcripts here.

For transcripts from previous post-secondary schools, you may need to contact their transcript or admissions departments.

Seeing this post a little late and wondering if there’s still time to apply? If you’re interested in one of of our open admission programs (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or Bachelor of Computing Science) then it’s not too late! Visit our website to apply. If you were considering one of our other programs, ensure you check our application deadlines to see if we’re still accepting applications.

Hopefully this cleared up any questions you may have! If we didn’t answer your question, please reach out to us and let us know. You can reach us Monday-Friday from 9 AM-4PM PST by phone at 250-828-5006, use our Ask Us A Question feature, or Live Chat with one of our staff. We’d be more than happy to answer your remaining questions!

-The Future Student Team 🙂
