Applications are OPEN!

Thompson Rivers University’s 140-plus programs offer educational opportunities for everyone, whether your passion is in arts, science, health care, business, trades and technology, adventure studies, or tourism. It doesn’t matter if your journey is a straight line, twisty road, or winding path, TRU has the program you need to open doors to a future full of opportunities.

The first step of the journey is your application

Applications are now open as of October 1st. We thought this might be a good time to break down some university lingo to make the application process clearer for you.

Registration 101

Do you know why Monday, June 12th is an important day? It’s the start of TRU’s priority registration period!

What exactly does that mean though?

Between June 12th and 26th, TRU students can begin registering for their fall and winter courses on their designated registration date. Based on a number of factors, TRU has assigned each of you a priority registration date and time. To find your specific registration date and time, login in to your myTRU account, navigate to ‘on-campus course registration’, followed by ‘Prepare for Registration’.

How to Timetable Like a Pro

Spring is an exciting time at TRU! The flowers on campus are blooming, winter exams have been completed, and the course schedule for the next academic year is released.

Congratulations to those of you who have received your offer letter from TRU and have accepted your seat for 2023/2024! We can’t wait to see you on campus next year.

Haven’t even applied yet? That’s okay! TRU is still accepting applications for open admission programs (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Computing Science, Bachelor of Business Administration) and some limited admission programs.

But for those of you who are ready and excited to join us in the fall (or winter), now is when your day-to-day life as a TRU student begins to take shape. What do we mean by that? With the release of the course schedule, you can now begin planning your own schedule for the fall AND winter semesters.
